We are off to DisneyWorld next year and I am already really excited about it. Anyone else? I'd love to compare notes on what you are doing to prepare. I'm starting to think about how to do a big surprise for the DC when we tell them we are going.

Welcome AhsataN when do you go?

Hokey, I am getting round the next week part now whooooooo

newfavouritething · 17/06/2013 23:14

Ok, so I read this thread over the last couple of days, and today booked flights & car hire for easter 2014!! Thanks all, have been toying with the idea for about a year - just had the confirmation email through :-) :-) :-)

newfavouritething · 17/06/2013 23:16

And am I allowed to say that quid co are doing 8% cashback on flight/car packages this week? Haven't been on mumsnet very long so don't know the rules about that sort of thing.

Groovee · 18/06/2013 07:32

Welcome Favourite.

Today is my last day of double digits. I can do the single digit dance tomorrow. Last day at work too. Feeling so wiped that it will be a relief to chill.

PickledMoomin · 18/06/2013 21:01

Woohoo! Can't decide whether watching heathrow live is good/bad for my fear of flying.

I can't wait to go but I'm dreading 9 hours of anxiety.

AhsataN · 18/06/2013 21:32

hello, we fly out of Heathrow 22nd july and land back in uk 4th august. its my first time going to America. its a party of 7 adults and my 3 yr old son, we have hired a mini bus to get us from place to place.
I am very excited as it was a treat for me and my son from my sister :)

Groovee · 19/06/2013 10:07

I've not watched it. Just not had time.

Was supposed to be my last day at work yesterday but because the care inspectorate turned up unannounced, I need to do 1 extra day.

But 9 days to go now. it's so close.

AhsataN what a lovely treat xx

Anyone been to/ going to Port Orleans? Am trying to decide between Riverside or French Quarter, anyone stayed at these?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/06/2013 11:18

Hi Kvass, yes, we've stayed at Port Orleans three times. I'm actually a bit gutted that we're not staying there next year, but I got a better deal at Caribbean Beach.

We have always stayed at French Quarter, because it is quieter, has a great pool with a fun slide, and only one bus stop. However we have frequently used the food court at Riverside. It is only about a 5-10 minute stroll from one to the other. Also, you can use the boat to get from one to the other if you prefer.

KvassInTheNight · 19/06/2013 11:27

Hi Anne, Yes, I noticed Caribbean Beach was cheaper this year- we stayed there last Feb, it was a great resort, no complaints there!

But I do like a change of scene and want to do the QSDP, which means staying at a moderate... so our only options are PO or Coronado- I cant seem to book Coronado from the UK (pity as the pool looks great!).

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/06/2013 13:11

Oh good to know that about Caribbean Beach, thanks!

The two PO resorts are so close, I don't think it matters which one you stay at, as you can easily go between them. Riverside has the better shop and food court, and also has a table service restaurant, but we preferred the smaller FQ, and just walked there when we wanted to.

Odd that you can't book Coronado - I'm sure that was available at the same price as CB when I booked. I remember trying to decide between the two and I only chose CB over CS as CS is a bit further out and closer to Animal Kingdom, my least-favourite park!

Groovee · 19/06/2013 14:26

We've stayed at Riverside twice. We were in the mansions the first time which was fab and we'd requested the next time. But when I got there we were allocated building 14 in Alligator Bayou which is what all the americans wanted at the time. It was fab there too. We just loved the feel off the place and would love to go back as just a couple lol.

Groovee · 20/06/2013 21:19

Our tickets are here. Have chosen our seats and upgraded to 25kgs for the way home. 8 sleeps. This time next week I have to be in bed Grin

Groovee · 21/06/2013 07:04

In 7 days I will hopefully be in the airport Grin Can't believe it's almost here.

KvassInTheNight · 21/06/2013 15:28

Oooooo Groovee, I am jealous. You will have a great time. Whore you going with? We are probably going to book with Kenwood again/ pr Virgin Holidays...

Think I have made up my mind- I want to stay in Allligator Bayou, DS & DP are alligator men Grin. Think I'm going to book POR in next few days (must book before 1 July to get $200 gift card).

I think Coronado may be booked out- I know it's a conference venue.

Groovee · 21/06/2013 16:34

We're going with our usual Airtours. We seem to end up with them every time we go lol.

But ours is the first Glasgow flight of the season and today the Manchester and Gatwick flights are running late Confused

Off out to Frankie and Benny's with the brownie team for tea. Looking forward to it.

Groovee · 23/06/2013 09:37

5 more sleeps, 5 more sleeps!!!!

Groovee · 23/06/2013 11:09

OOOH not long for you Hokey xx

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 23/06/2013 13:10

I know!!

Still shopping around for best park tickets.

Have done an itinerary so we can try and get what's best for the best price.

Where did you get yours, Orlando attractions are looking good at the moment for us.

Groovee · 23/06/2013 13:34

I got mine from Attraction Tickets Direct. I paid the £10 deposit and paid it up. But I got my blue man tickets from them via someone who works for them and was £33 each.

Orlando attractions are owned by ATD ;-) See if they will price match.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 23/06/2013 13:39

Oh I shall have a look!

Have also booked a character lunch at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, not been to that one before.

IsaacCox · 23/06/2013 13:41

Hello all (I was on this thread a while ago as NoraSpect/TheaBeaver :))

I'm hoping to join you all again soon. We're planning on going again, hopefully next year, and are going to ask some family members to go with us. I really want to share the magic with them and get all excited showing them round! Grin We're actually going to ask my DM and DSIS this afternoon! And then we'll ask others soon. I'm so excited and we've not even booked yet!

Hoping it'll be third time lucky as the first time we went, I (we think) caught glandular fever off the plane on the way back (and was off work for months!) then the last time I caught a cold on the way there, so was ill most of the time!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkk!!! Grin

Groovee · 23/06/2013 19:08

OOOh sounds fab Hokey.

Isaac, welcome back.

IsaacCox · 24/06/2013 07:42

Thanks, Groovee. It's not long until you're there now is it?

Well my dm and dsis said yes so we're thinking of going at Easter 2015. It has to be in the holidays as my sister is starting uni in September. It ages away but I'm excited haha!
