HELP - how much does a holiday to Disney in Florida cost?

I've got 2 kids and there's me and dh.

We would be talking going when it's not too hot eg easter or October, whenever there is 2 weeks school holidays.

The kids would want to have as much disney, universal etc as poss. so would need passes.

I need to do it as humanly cheaply as possible.

Any ideas on costs?

There are 5 of us and we did it for around £1,600 but we had no accommoddation costs and that was in schl time (tut tut) and one was under 2.......alorralorradosh. But worth it........

I would say around 3K.

Neither airport you name operates a direct service to Orlando. If you wanted to fly there direct you would have to travel from Gatwick.

Flying into Sanford is a possible alternative.

we've just booked to go in 6 weeks...family of four inc flights, car hire, villa for 2 weeks and all taxes for 1400....can't wait.

A word of warning-Easter is the BUSIEST time at Disney as everyone has 2 weeks hols that are not in Summer hols!

Helped with the planning, deciding when to go, and had FAB touring plans (which worked!) for getting on all the rides whilst avoiding congestion. Everyone who has borrowed it since said it was the best book on the subject.

We are going for 17 nights in Oct and have paid £2,300 for 5 flights and 7 seater with full top up ins, then £1000 for 4 bed villa. Still have to get disney tickets, will get 14 day ultimate which will be around £780!

We are going in June for 2 weeks. There is me, Dh and DD (4yo). We are flying with Virgin from Manchester to Orlando, staying in a 4 bed villa and hiring a large 7 seater car. My parents are sharing villa and car hire cost. So far this has cost us £2000. We will have the park tickets on top. Last time we went we got a great deal and got lots of tickets (pretty much unlimited for Universal nd Disney, plus Seaworld 2 day and 1 day to Space Centre) for £330 per person.

wow, that's really expensive. I had hoped we could do it cheaply but I think we'd have to pay at least £2-3k anyway.

I wonder if a few days in Disney Paris would be more in our budget.

The trouble is all of ds's friends are going to Disney or at least abroad and again we're going to a self catering cottage in Scarborough. We're in a way different financial league to everyone round here and it's probably because I'm at home for the kids and dh earns a really low wage eg. £14000. I'm glad I'm here for the kids but now we're seing the other side of it when all the school friends ds has have been on a plane and he hasn't! I#m not being materialistic, but I feel a bit for ds, although we'll do what we can and he'll have a great holiday with us.
