Has anyone been on the trans-Mongolian with kids?

I'm thinking of going to Moscow-Baikal-Mongolia-Beijing next summer, and probably some onward travel in China. I've done all those things alone, and have lived in Russia and China, and I think it would be a great holiday for us all. But we would be with 3 primary school boys. Interested in anyone's experiences.

I would be interested too- we are thinking of this or the silk road, but will have a (by then) 15 month old. Are we nuts? It's basically a once in a lifetime opportunity at our feet and we want to use it in the best and most memorable way possible!
