Las Vegas... With a 6 month old

Hello. I am getting married in April and me and DP are thinking about a USA trip for our honeymoon, with a few days spent in Vegas! However we will by then have a 6 month old baby in tow (due in three weeks ). We are first time parents and so we really have idea as to how realistic this is?!

So I am hoping on some advice from anyone who has knowledge of Vegas, especially with young children. We are hoping to still be able to go to shows/ restaurants and other more 'family friendly' activities.

Restaurants will be fine but you won't beable to take the baby into shows. Also you do know that the baby is not allowed on the gaming floor of any Casino. Vegas does have lots to keep children entertained but not so much for babies I'm afraid.

You can walk through the casino gaming areas with a baby but you will not be allowed to linger.

I really wouldn't take a baby there. Your ability to enjoy Vegas will be curtailed and it will be hot, making you all crabby

There are loads of other parts of California far better suited to a family.

I took my three children there and we had a fab time. My youngest was about 18 months. The only show we all went to was the tournement of kings.

There is an aquarium in Mandalay bay which was good for kids and some lions in MGM. Not usre how much a 6 month old would take in but my kids enjoyed them. It's a very easy place to go with a buggy. There were no issues taking the kids to any restaunts. One of the best was The Rainforest cafe - food was great and so much better then you would get in London.

a 6 month old doesn't care where it is and doesn't need family friendly activities. However it may curtail your Vegas trip to have baby in tow and be limited where you can go but if its your only chance to go to LV then give it a go!

Vegas is very tiring - all the hotels on the strip are fairly far apart and you can end up walking long distances - might be something to bear in mind!
