Just wondering how much spending money I should budget for next summers holiday? We are going to Ibiza for 10 nights all inclusive in June. Family of four, the kids will be 5 and 7. Never been abroad with both kids so have no idea how much to take.

We've been going all inclusive for about the last dozen holidays and always spend less that 200 euros. It depends whether you intend to go on any trips or things like banana boats, pedaloes etc or want to buy presents or souvenirs but if you are tight like me and think along the lines of - if you are all inclusive you WILL find a drink that you like (even if its not your usual tipple) and there is always SOMETHING that you can eat - you do not need to spend a fortune. Thats what you pay the All inclusive price for - to have everything included! Just came back from Ibiza (Portinatx) and 2 Adults and 1 9 year old and we spent 140 euros in a week all told.

Are all meals/ drinks/activities covered in the all inclusive? Some charge for drinks after a certain time, or certain meals aren't included so always worth making sure. Assuming all meals and drinks are included then I would imagine enough for something to eat/drink/snacks at the airport on the departure and return. Allow for buying buckets/spades/other toys etc. Have some spare cash for unexpected extras (excursions, replacement suncream, anything from a pharmacy) and have an emergency amount "just in case".

Definitely check what's included first though. You'll have a great time Grin

Can't you just use a debit card, and budget for prices similar to the UK?

I was in Ibiza S. Miguel AI this summer with DS. We didn't spend much in food or drink, as that was all included in the hotel. However, we did pay about 30 Euro per day in other activities: banana boat, glass bottom boat, visiting caves, water park...

The one day that we went to the water park, we spent extra 30 Euro in lunch.

If you are happy to stay in the hotel all the time, you don't really need to buy much except for airport food and possibly a few toys. However, I tend to find that quite boring, so I always end up going out and spending.

Thanks for all your replies. We tend to have at least 3-4 days where we go out and about but I wonder if our DC's will want to leave the hotel entertainment? Think I'll allow for 500 euro and take my debit card as back-up, I would hope that we would come back with change though!

take whatever you think you will spend max, plus £200 emergency money, or if you have a debit card just take that. We went half board to Spain 2 summers ago and I went £200 over budget, mainly tho because of the waterparc tickets being so extortianate
