Last minute holiday - any advice on where to go??

Three of us - 2 adults and baby under 1, and we'd like to go somewhere hot and beachy if possible with a budget of around £1000-£1500 in total for around 3/4 nights and nowhere further away than 3/4hrs away.

Any suggestions? Egypt maybe?

I shall be watching this thread closely for my own selfish purposes!!!

I like Egypt but I don't think I would take a baby at this time of year, it's really hot! How about Northern Spain, maybe ferry to Santander? Lots of nice non touristy places and great weather.

Canaries perhaps
Egypt is about 5 hours away if flying from the U.k.

Another thought, how about Cyprus. It's lovely at this time of year :)
