We are flying to Florida in a fortnight for our first holiday abroad with dds aged 5 & 7. We'd be grateful for any tips about how to make the journey bearable for us all. We're taking books, colouring stuff, cards etc but any other tips gratefully received! We're flying with Continental Airlines ....... any thoughts on this company? Thanks MN.

A flask to sneak booze into your fizzy drinks. You're going to need it Wink

sweets! Blush especially small sweets that can be used to drip feed bored kids...

I usually wrap a few small presents up, then they can open one an hour, that combined with the food the airlines give out, usually tides us over, think small pots of playdough, cars, new books in small size etc (cheapy bookshops are great for all of these things!) we managed to entertain ss then 6 and dd then 18mths all the way to Vegas with these (10hr flight) although that was Virgin and they do extra kids food etc which also helped.......
Also don't forget the Calpol and Nurofen for the night flight back!

One of those small magna doodle things - write on & rub off. Change of clothes in case of mishaps. How about a personal CD or tape player (or MP3 if you are hi tech !!)
Little games like Top Trumps that last a while (DSs seem to go on & on &on !!)
