DH myself and DC x 3 age 17 9 and 2 . I'd like to book something maybe on the Greek Islands or similar but it's years since we've been abroad and I used to love walking around in the eve choosing whe to eat. E erywhe now seems to be all inclusive and I would hate eating in the same place every night ! I'd still like a hotel though with breakfast ?
Also the one hol I googled came up at 3000 is that normal nowadays ?? I was hoping to pay around 1600 and the 3000 quote included free child places ! yikes x

oN THE BEACH ...I looked and booked with them this year ...All inclusive but in the town so we could have gone out a few nights if we wanted ..it was just me and 3 ds's who only wanted chips so couldn't justify spending money in a tapas place !!!
The hotel we were at did all boards...be wary of trip advisor....even other people at our hotel said it didn't merit the negativity !!

Our cost was ...1632 a/i 9 nights costa brava mid August .

I just checked Thomas Cook's web site, entered the information you've given us and it came out with about 10 hotels in Greece that do just bed and breakfast. Some of them were very expensive, but there were also reasonable ones. What month are you thinking of going?
