How does it work when buses replace trains?

I have to travel on Sunday. It says on the travel site I looked at that the train will be replaced by buses so the journey will take a lot longer .

Ive never done this before and am really not looking forward to extra lugging of bags about plus a longer journey.

Is it well organised? HOW is it organised ? I can envisage a scrum while random people pile onto the few bus seats Confused

Im not allowed to drive otherwise I would let the car take the strain. Wink

its normally fine, i have done it a few times, they will make sure htey have enough buses ( i had a coach) they were very good at helping wiht luggage/pushchairs etc.

the bus/coach will be at the station, they directed us where to go and then it drove us the the station we were meant to be going to basically and they helped unload at the other end.

they had extra staff with jackets on and clipboards directing people and helping etc.

that was with anglia trains i guess other companies may do it differently but ime it was very well organised and they had the train that we were getting a connection to wait till the coach was there so it could be caught and we didnt miss it.

done it lots of times. it is a pain but the staff seem extra helpful and whilst you are a bit squashed they help you get luggage on and off etc. its not so bad so long as it isnt a really long one.
