Have you been before sophable?

I'm excited because I studied ancient greek history for my degree many years ago and always wanted to go Crete, but never got there!

Slightly closer to Chania - but not much in it - pretty much midway. Wouldn't be difficult from either.
I have been to Crete - but not to the classical sites.

have just found a good map finally - yes Chania looks the nearest, but as you say blu, not much in it, so I can look at flights for both.

I used to work in Rethymnon. Heraklion airport is 2.5 hours away and is further than Chania airport but more flights go into Heraklion so you will have a probably have a better choice of flight times etc. Chania airport is about 1 - 1.5 hours away from Rethymnon and would be my first choice if there wasnt much in it price wise.

Thanks Trifle - useful info - it's looking as though Heraklion is the only option anyway because of the day we want to fly.

If we do end up going, can I pick your brains a bit Smile?
