Neilson - evenings with under 4s

Hi - I was wondering if anyone would share their experiences of a Neilson holiday with very small children. We have an 18 month old and 3 year old, and I was curious how other people managed evenings on Neilson holidays. We'd usually do self catering, so it's not a problem, but not sure how Neilson is set up for this.

There is an evening creche for over 5s - but nothing for under 5s as far as I can see. Did you take them to dinner with you at 7.30, or did you and your partner eat dinner in shifts? Ours would be a bit knackered by 7.30/8 so have a feeling we'll be solo dining.

And, has anyone stayed in a Garden Room in Lemnos? I don't know whether it's set up so you can spend an evening in your room - ie. is there a balcony or outside chairs?

I'm sure we'll enjoy it whatever, but curious how other people dealt with evenings with little children.

Thanks!

We stayed in a garden room in Lemnos last year Grin it's fab, you'll love it. Yes, you get a little covered patio with tables and chairs.

We didn't have LOs then, but lots of folk brought them to dinner, or I believe they can have children's tea at 5pm ish.

The whole place is super child friendly, and it's normal to have little one around in the evening, asleep in buggy or running around.

Am so jealous, I'm too pregnant for a hol this year, but I think we're going back to Lemnos this time next year!

If you have any questions, fire away (we've been to Lesbos twice, too). Have you been on the neilson's website? There's a grey forum section where you can ask questions and either people who've been or the lovely staff will answer.

I did Greece with Neilson's twice when DS was 1yo and 2yo. Since Greece is 2 hours ahead of us, it didn't make any difference to him. 7:30 pm in Greece was in reality 5:30 UK time, so we stuck to his UK routine and it worked fine. Of course, after dinner, we just had to go back to the room and have a drink in the balcony. I seem to remember there was one night when you could take the child in pyjamas to the nursery and they babysat till 10:30 or so

Hi
yes have done neilsons with littlies the past 3 years. They do a 'sleep club' on non-inclusive nights. you take them in their pjs at 7pm with teddies and they all watch a dvd and go to sleep (cots for the babies) then you pick themup at 10pm. this is included, so you can go out for the evening. This is 3 nights per week. my kids loved this.

They do a kids tea every night at 5pm which they can have with you or the nannies.
When ours were aged 2 (in lemnos) we used to go up to the restaurant and bring the dinner back to our balcony on a tray with a bottle of wine as ours went to bed about 7-8pmish- lovely sea view! This year (aged 4) we took them out in the evening with us, they had already had tea at 5pm but usually had some extra pudding or whatever and played with other friends whilst we ate.
It is brilliant for families you will absolutely love it. Totally Works for people with little kids
