Dh and me alone in London!

Dh and I are having a first night away from all four kids for at least a couple of years. We're staying at Sheraton Park Towers (by Harvey Nicks) - free hotel points. Quite fancy a non-touristy Japanese meal and some cool bars. Not up for clubbing any more. Any recommendations?

Zuma for the meal!

Second time I've recommended that in 24 hours!

It is right opposite Harvey Nichs.

I think there is an ice bar which has recently opened in west london somewhere. You get skins at the door to wear and sit on ice blox and drink copious amoutnts of vodka I think!

swedishmum, can i ask what points you are using? we have lots of hotel points to use too...???

I'd have thought the last thing a Scandinavian would want to do in London is hang around in a block of ice drinking lethal spirits.
Coals to Newcastle and all that...

PMsl Moondog - hadfn't clocked the name!

Maybe she's homesick thoughGrin

Would definitely recommend a mid-afternoon Cosmo at Harvey Nics 5th Floor Bar.
There is a fabulous Japanese place called Zuma around the corner \link{http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/london/display.php?Rest_ID=81164\see here} - which isn't touristy but is very 'in'.....you would need to book though.

hmm.....that's got my mouth watering remembering our last meal in there......

Thanks everyone! Looks like Zuma if we can get a table. I'm actually not Swedish, just lived there, so will change my name when I get round to it...
Dh gets Starwood points when he stays in Sheratons for work - the reward scheme is great. He used to work away a lot and so far we've had free holiday stays in Bahamas, Dublin, Sardinia, NY, Marrakech, Venice Lido, Majorca, Switzerland, and a bonus weekend at The Gritti Palace in Venice. Though it's great that he works from home a lot more now I do miss the points and air miles. I know we've been really lucky to do this amount of free travel. It makes up a little bit for missing him!

Some restaurant reviews for Zuma:-

Tried to book Zuma- obviously need much longer. Concierge said he'd alredy tried 6 times that day. We will try again after the positive reviews on here - maybe for midweek.
Weekend was lovely without kids, despite getting home to find babysitting inlaws had accidently switched off freezer yesterday...
