I've heard great things about it, and we're thinking about booking it for our Anniversary in November as dd (2yrs) will be with us and they provide childcare.

It's pretty expensive though and I've not been able to find any discount vouchers - would you say it's worth the money?

I went for a work conference with evening christmas do (meal and disco type thing) however this was back in 2008. The facilities were lovely, the food was gorgeous despite being for a mass catered type thing, the staff were nice and catered to adhoc requests. If it is still as it was I would defo go again Smile

I went last year and thought it as lovely. The child care was good and allowed us to feed the kids earlier at their 'high tea' sitting and then enjoy our dinner in peace, food was very nice. Just to let you know though that sometimes if you don't book direct, the price may be cheaper but does not actually include the child care, I don't think they do any discounts though.

I went last year, and it was good. Our kids are older, but the facilities for younger nephews were great. Expensive, though. Dunblane hydro is cheaper and may also do child care.

Thanks! I've just gone ahead and booked a two night stay in November. The children's facilities were definitely the selling point! Can't wait....

We were there two years ago and I was very disappointed.

We had three rooms and they were reall far from one another, including being on different floors.

They were not welcoming in the children's club as we hadn't booked before arrival (we didn't know we had to).

The less formal restaurant couldn't accommodate us until 9.30pm on our first night, and then didn't serve us until after 10. They did let us into the more formal one the second night, despite our lack of shirts and ties for the boys, and gave us 50% of the first night's meal as compensation - although we had to ask for this on checking out rather than it being automatic.

In its favour, it is a beautiful setting. They have good facilities that you don't come across every day, such as quad biking, although a session is very expensive.

Overall, I was very disappointed with Crieff Hydro, especially as I had been looking at their brochures and website for years before. I will not go back.

I love Crieff Hydro. Going there again in October. It is expensive though but is very, very child-friendly and lots to do. I would book both the childcare and restaurant in advance, especially if it's English or Scottish half-term. Neither of mine would stay in the childcare for longer than an hour though. Enjoy your holiday!

I am hoping to book a couple of nights in November. I almost looking forward to dinner with dh alone!
