Formula milk and departures

OK so I was intending to use the pre-order 'service' but unfortunately they only have 2 bottles on the shelf Hmm and no way of knowing what is coming in over the next 10 days more Hmm (it tells you to order 10 days before online but actually its 2 weeks). So will have to give up on this as a possibility, not least because after that conversation it has knocked my confidence in Boots somewhat!

So there is lots of conflicting information online about what happens when you take milk through departures. In the past you apparently had to taste it all (one for dh yeuk) but depending on what you read it ranges from 50% to it being unlikely. On one airport website it says you 'may' have to taste it.....

So if I took 2 sealed 250ml bottles of SMA through departures is it likely they will make us open one of them or both? If you have been through this recently please can you tell me what happened?

Thanks :-)

My experience of Edinburgh, Heathrow, Singapore and Perth is as follows:

Edinburgh, tasted one
Heathrow, tasted them all - complete waste as I had 6 for a longhaul flight and had to bin them and buy more.
Singapore - not interested.
Perth - everything checked but that's what they do in Oz. On departure only had to taste one.

Thanks for the reply..... Basically then who knows? Oh well its only a 2 hour flight anyway so will take a cup so not sipping directly and I'm sure they'll be ok for a few hours.

I think it depends. They will ask you or not ask you. I had to taste mine at heathrow and then again at Singapore.

I always have to taste everything at Stansted. How old is your little one? If you are concerned about tasting directly from the bottle, maybe you could take a spare container or bottle lid and put a little milk there to taste?
