I need a Tenerife expert please! Which resorts are similar to Playa Blanca or Pollensa?

We were all set to arrange a holiday in October to Playa Blanca but we can't get flights from Luton to there. That bit is a non negotiable - long story - and I see that we can fly from Luton to Tenerife. Could anyone help me understand what the different resorts are like please? Ideally wanting to find a villa, maybe on a small complex, in a pleasant resort with a nice beach, a few restaurants etc but not too noisy / brash. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Playa del duque is lovely.

Geordie is right; Playa del Duque is by far the nicest one. But I don't know of any resort in that area. There are mainly hotels or very expensive villas. And very few restaurants. Playa de las Vistas or Playa del Camison are nice sandy beaches. This chain "Parque Santiago" has many apart-hotel close to them. [[http://www.parquesantiago.com/en] not exactly a small complex, but very nice - except Parque Santiago 5 - and as far I know not noisy.
I don't like at all Playa Fañabe and its fun bar or Sport TV going on 24H.

Hi there.
I live and work in Tenerife so if i can help in anyway please dont hesitate to ask.

In the meantime, have a look at this website www.lupain?holiday-rentals.com and search for villas and complexs in Tenerife.
if you see anything that you like but are not sure of the area, dont hesitate to come back to me and i will give you all the information i know.

Be careful, DifferentWoman, with Las Americas. First you need to need that Playa de las Americas is not flat. You may find that your resort is up on the hill. And anything that has "golf" in it, is closer to the motorway than the beach.
Some beaches are dirty , like for example Torviscas , you are basically in the harbor. Others are very rocky and you can't jump in the sea for a splash - Las Palmeras / Conquistador.
If browsing a rental website, be sure to read till the last page, get the name of the resort and spend some time on google maps and tripadvisor. For example the first hit on "lupain holiday" for Las Americas is Mare Verde resort, which is very far from the beach and so close to the motorway. The second is even worst being in San Eugenio which has no beaches (the closest is Torviscas in Puerto Colon).
Oh and anything with "Alto" in in like San EUgenio ALto or Torviscas Alto means it is located on the other side of the motorway so you have to cross it! And the nearest bridge may not be so close to you.
