I've never done a package holiday before, but I think now could be the time. We haven't been away since 2010 winter and am now desperate for some sun. DC3 is due in 2 weeks, and we already have 2 DC aged 3 and 18 mos. Am thinking with a 6-10 week old baby, I really won't be interested in sight-seeing etc, and will just want to veg somewhere relaxing where DH can entertain the other two. So requirements are:

  • can go Nov/ Dec, need decent warm sunny weather.
  • shortest flight possible to meet above requirement!
  • child-friendly pool or beach, preferably both.
  • no cooking, cleaning etc - but want decent food.
  • budget sort of flexible within reason. DH will want cheap, I want nice!

Any ideas, or general advice about AI package holidays, what to look for etc?

Holiday villages or similar in canaries .. All British run child care included . Lanzarote an Tenerife have them . Look on first choice website . Sensatori are the posher version .

It's a four hour flight but I don't think you will get guaranteed sun for less distance

Holiday village Egypt will be hot and is great for kids. 5.5 hour flight but worth it and most are night flights back our 2.5 year old was fine and he's a little monkey who bores very easily.

Thanks, Egypt looks like a good option. The sensatori place looks fab but not sure they still run kids clubs etc in Nov - but that's okay.

I have been to the holiday village in Egypt . I would go to canaries given the choice . Egyptians were after tips all day long and as such all their ' service ' was disingenuous . The Spanish are much nice and friendlier without taking your
Money . Also we all got bad tummies in Egypt despite having a cast iron constitution . The weather and beach / hotel were very nice though Smile
