Making up formula in Mallorca - bottled water?

Lamby80 · 28/08/2012 20:49

Hi
We are taking our son who will 5 months old to Mallorca in October. I am going to take a tupperware tub and milton tablets to sterilise but need to work out how i am going to make up his formula. I know that bottled water contains high levels of sodium and this isnt good for him. Are there any particular brands that we should use that have lower levels of sodium?
Any other helpful tips would be great!
Jo

Rather than Tupperware you can buy travel steriliser bags with tablets in. I reuse them with new Milton tabs too which is space saving.

It's bottled water or boiled tap water. Either is fine

Boots for the bags by the way

There is a brand of mineral water recommended for babies... I think it's called Bezoya (?) but the phrase you're looking for on the label is "mineralización muy débil". It has a blue and red label.

Also, boots sell travel bottles by nurture, single use and disposable, but ££ if exclusively FF.

Evian can be used but many can't, especially mineral water I believe.

Or buy the litre bottles of formula, maybe.

If you google the phone number of boots at whatever airport you're leaving from, you can preorder formula, medicines etc for your baby and then pick it up before you fly. Much easier than trying to pack it all!

Bezoya's website says it is 1mg/l of sodium.

There's a picture of a baby on the water with low sodium - a bit like the baby changing facilities picture Grin We've always used Fontvella when in Spain/Ibiza/Majorca. We've also found microwave steriliser bags to be great as well.

Oh and last year, on holiday with 4 month old completely miscalculated formula needed and just bought a brand of formula over there. It was expensive but baby didn't notice the difference. We were also able to pick up ready made cartons in the shop at complex.

Cheaper to boil tap water instead of buying bottled

www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/formula/feedingonholidayexpert/ - says to use bottled water with the lowest sodium content you can find. It still needs to be boiled.
