Eating out in Cardiff

We're going to Cardiff for the Doctor Who Experience next week, staying in Cardiff Bay itself. Any recommendations for eating out that isn't too expensive please? Only no-no's are Indian or Thai because DS is not keen.

Cardiff Bay has lots of chains - Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge, Strada etc. We quite like Cosmo - all you can eat Chinese buffet or SALT which is Brains pub. There is a new place open called Truffles, i think, which looked nice but I haven't eaten there.

Just off the bay in the red dragon centre where there is another buffet place bella pasta, chiquitos etc. So you will have plenty of choice - just depends what sort of thing you are after.

You are quite close to Cardiff where there is more choice.
