DD wants to see Wicked for her birthday....

... but its sooooo expensive :(

Its her birthday next saturday and the cheapest tickets I can find will cost £195 for the 6 of us.

Given that these tickets are the lowest price available on that website I suspect that these are the ones where part of the stage will be blocked from view which makes the whole thing pointless.

Does anyone have any idea if there is a website thatl sells reasonably priced tickets for reasonably good seats?

TIA

we had relatively cheap seats to the side, £45 seats but it wasnt restricted. and we saw everything, the veiw was fab, and the show was just brilliant. have you been on last minute.com? ticket master is good too

OddBoots · 26/08/2012 16:38

Do all six of you need to go? Anything for six people will be costly, one adult and one child would be much cheaper.

IvanaNap · 26/08/2012 16:39

Exactly what OddBoots said.

Ticketmaster website wasnt working when I checked there - will keep checking tonight though.

lastminute are the ones above - their cheapest tickets work out nearly £200 and because the other tickets they have are so much more expensive I'm worried they will be rubbish seats (they dont seem to give a description of where in the theatre these tickets are for).

I cant really afford to spend any more though - so should I or shouldnt I?

Agree one adult take her

AuntieMaggie · 26/08/2012 16:46

On the ticketmaster site it shows you where the seats are and warns if its restricted view infact the seats in front of me weren't used for precisely that reason.

Saturday is always going to be expensive - I went on a Monday night for £20.

Take your own sweets crisps drinks too!

Its my other daughters birthday in a couple of weeks so its her birthday treat too and because hubby is only home one day a week they really want us all to go.

I suppose we could see if one of us could come to London and then go and do something else with DS (who is a little bit older and not too bothered) but I would feel bad - we havent done very much as a family this year and have been putting money aside for this for ages and still havent saved enough!

AuntieMaggie - I'm sure we'll be smuggling in some maltesers :)

Will persevere with Ticketmaster.

Why don't you take both girls and sell it to them as a girls night out? Trying to get 6 seats together will also push the price up.

freakydeaky · 26/08/2012 17:04

Theatremonkey.com will tell you about restricted view seats

Can absolutely recommend theatremonkey for getting reviews of seats. I saw Wicked a couple of years ago and bought £25 tickets which were row L of the stalls, they were meant to be restricted view but in reality we hardly missed a thing and thought they were fab seats for the price.

sb6699 · 26/08/2012 21:42

I had heard of those stalls NatashaBee but am a bit dubious about leaving it that last minute in case we dont get anything as you said.

january, kidsweek ends on Friday and for various reasons we can only go on a saturday :( I checked out showpairs but no deals for Wicked unfortunately.

We asked dd what she thought about DH and DS not going so we could get better seats but she looked quite sad at that suggestion so Think we're going to bite the bullet and go for the cheap tickets and check out Theatremonkey to see whereabouts in the theatre the seats are. Fingers crossed :)

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, you've all been really helpful x

lastminute do special deals every few months on wicked tickets, which ive done a couple of times, if you can wait till one comes up. It is great!

RevoltingChildren · 26/08/2012 21:48

Can you possibly go by 31st August. If do then you can get Kidsweek tickets where the children go free.

Saturday's are always going to be the most difficult day to get deals I'm afraid. We usually go midweek to get offers.
