Alcudia Majorca tips please

Hi

Me, my DH and 2 boys (4YO and 6YO) are off to Alcudia on Sunday for a week, does anyone have tips for where to go/eat.

We only booked it a fortnight ago, so a bit clueless although I'm aware it'll be very touristy places to eat that are not just chips and burgers would be good.

TIA

Try the old town. We went some years back on the bus from Puerto Pollensa, had dinner, and went back by taxi! Quite a few restaurants had proper table linen as I recall in the evening. Can't remember where exactly we ate, sorry. Lunches can be quite traditional food if you want.

We go to pollensa quite a lot and have had a lot of meals at can cuarassa which is a little bit out of town on the way to puerto pollensa. not cheap but lovely and good children's menu for our DSs.

Is Alcudia close to Pollensa? I was hoping the old part of Alcudia would be walkable.

Sorry, reread my post and realised it only made sense in my head! The place i mentioned is on the road from alcudia to puerto pollensa - its got a good website. Don't know where you're staying but there are also nice places in the old town!

The public buses are very good, more like a coach. We went by bus during the day to look around and do a bit of shopping (from P.Pollensa) Another evening we went early to have a wander and have dinner, but we had to taxi back as the buses stopped around 9pm.

I don't know how far it is between Port Alcudia and Alcudia old town, but I don't think it's walkable. If you didn't mind eating early you could probably get the bus there and back some of the evenings.

We're staying at the Bellevue apartments which looks like a massive complex, may take us 15 mins to escape from there!

We will probably eat earlier because of the children anyway, 6-7 I would think.

We're not a very adventurous couple when it comes to buses etc, but we went to Porta Pollensa 2 years ago with my parents and they got around on the buses quite happily.

Whyriskit that restaurant looks really good.

I'm sure the complex will be able to provide a bus timetable and tell you where the bus stops are. Would be nice to go to the old town a couple of evenings while you're there.

Have a lovely time.

I've googled mapped it now, so have more an idea of the distance...

There are lovely restaurants in Alcudia old town. Our favourite is in a little square and is a pizza restaurant called Sa Caseta. You do need to book though but it is really lovely and such a perfect setting, C'an Cu'arassa is nice and there are some lovely restaurants in pollensa old town. We like Bar Nou for Paella and C'an Olesa in the main square.
