Which part of Playa Blanca is the best to hire a villa in?

Following on from a Mumsnet suggestion, I've been researching into Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. We're looking into a villa rental, but I can't quite get the flavour of the different areas. It looks rather big, so wanted to get some views on where's the best place to stay....the new Marina, Montana Roja, Faro Park etc. We'd like it quiet and with nice views, but having a short walk to a beach would also be good. Thanks!

The resort of Playa Blanca is spreadout but linked by a pedestrian promenade and also a circular bus service. There are three beaches in the resort and seven along the coast at Papagayo. Playa Dorada is a popular beach, it's sheltered, there's lots of facilities near by for food and drink and has sunbeds and sunshades for hire to get off the sand. This beach is between the marina and town centre. If you're staying at the Faro Park and Montaña Roja side of the resort then the closest beach is Playa Flamingo, also sheltered and sandy with less facilities in the immediate area. I would suggest hiring a car from the airport, it saves loads on transfers and means that you're not limited as to which beach to head for!

My preference is Montana Rojas, as v quiet and nice views. It is a hike to the beach and town though. Rubicon closer to both, but a bit closer together and a bit more noise ime. :)
