Please could anyone recommend a suitcase for 8 year old girl?

My daughter's stuff will need to be packed separately otherwise I think my suitcase will be above the allowed kg. I wanted one that she could perhaps wheel herself.

I've seen some of the super light weight ones in Matalan.

If you've got the cash Sammies by Samsonite are ace Grin

Remember to pack across the cases. Try not to have a suitcase each in case one goes missing and that person then has no clothes/stuff.

oh dear - is it common for cases to go missing??

Thanks for your replies. Would a child's suitcase be able to go on as hand luggage?

Our friends had a dreadful experience with both bags going missing on their honeymoon. His turned up after 5 days and hers the day before they came home Sad They did not cross pack.

Dd feels the sammies ones are a bit babyish for her! But anyway they are a bit more than I wanted to pay tbh. £80 is a lot for a child's suitcase. Thanks though.

oh dear how awful stargirl! I do tend to put a few things in hand luggage (always have before).

I think that at 8 DD would prefer a more grown up case, and she will be using it for years to come. I would get a case that she could manage to wheel size wise, but check it in and she can have a smaller bag as hand luggage for her things to do on the flight. If a child is old enough for a seat on the plane, take advantage of their luggage allowance.

DH and I always put some clothes in each others cases including swimwear, and if going to a hot destination it's handy to have shorts, top, change of underwear in the hand luggage as well for each of us.

They might not have much choice left, but have you looked in TKMaxx for suitcases, they have really good makes at good prices.

Thank you girlywhirly - I will go and have a look.
