France holiday - Bedtime / eating out advice with 5.5mo

DH and I are heading to France for a week on Friday with 5.5mo DS. Going to be staying in B and Bs, some with restaurants, some without. DS currently has a 7pm bedtime and sleeps in his own room. Would really appreciate any advice on how flexible to be about his bedtime while away, especially as we'll be eating out each night most likely. Do you put the baby in the pram and take them to dinner, do you take them to bed later? Any tips or experience much appreciated :)

You will have to play it by ear. We have always found that our babies sleep for hours in the car when we travel and so don't want to settle to sleep necessarily in the evening.

As a rule of thumb, getting them to sleep in the pram and then eating while they sleep can work well, but you don't want to be curtailing your daytime plans and getting all frantic about them not napping so that they will sleep later!

Restaurants in France are much more accepting of young children than they are in the UK, IME. Just relax and have a good holiday :)
