Planning 2 week holiday with DH & DD end Sep - start Oct. It will be DH's birthday and DD's second birthday while we are away. I have been looking at Javea etc. I would prefer independent, apartment/villa, organise own flights car hire etc. Anyone got any recommendations in or around that area?

There are loads of villas/apartments on holiday rentals website. We've booked one for this summer!

We went to a villa in Calpe last may - was ab - lew Easyjet to Alicante and hired people carrier - wasn all far too easy! Friends villa and Calpe is around 'corner' fron Javea and Moraira (lovely place). Defo go independantly as it saves a packet! Our villa was up mountain side 5 mins drive from sea - very peaceful and quiet!

Ahh we stayed in Javea for 2 weeks in June 2004. We had a great time ! Rented a crabby apartment though - didn't make that mistake last year.

Someone from my work rents out a villa - cat me if you are interested

Javea is fab - loads of great child friendly restaurants - We also used holiday rentals.
Los Lago in Jesus Pobre is a fab development with a great pool and nice apartments/villas there are a few on this website and you are ideally situated to go into Javea/Denia or head in the opposite directly inland to the JAlon valledy well worth a trip.

Head for the beach at Olivia - hardly anyone there even in peak season - mainly where the spanish go. Really safe for kids shelves gently.
Avoid the town beach

My friend has a 3 bed villa with private pool on the beach at Denia, which is just up the coast from Javea. We are staying there this summer. CAT me if you would like details.
Some of the beaches in Denia are not so nice, but it is such a long stretch of coast up to Oliva, there are loads to choose from. Oliva has a fabulous beach. If you do stay in Javea, Arenal beach in the centre of Javea is lovely, a perfect horseshoe bay and very calm water for the kids. should be quieter in Sept/Oct.
