Swimming in Spain at the end of May

We're thinking of going to Spain (Moraira, Costa Blanca) during May half term. When we went a few years ago in the summer hols it was way too hot , so we thought we'd try going earlier. However, will it be warm enough to swim in a swimming pool by then? DD1 would be gutted if it was too cold!

are you going to a hotel or villa? I am just asking because many hotels don't open their pools till June.

Too cold.
What about Cyprus?

pools will all be open by Easter but might not be properly warm enough till June, Moraira is sheltered, so i reckon its a risk worth taking.. we have been to caserio del mirador in Jalon, about half an hour from Moraira in April and the pool was fresh but perfectly swimmable and they have baby neopreme wet suits for babies just in case its too fresh.. but by end of may even up in the hills its gorgeous.

As long as you get somewhere with a heated pool it will be fine. We swim in France in May quite happily (in heated pool of course).

We went to Moraira in May this year and swam in the sea and in the pool....it was the last weekend in May so maybe warmer than half term (not sure when that is).

DS wouldnt get in the pool but he is the wimpiest 3 yo ever...even he went paddling in the sea. The smaller beach (is it called El Portet or something similar) is very sheltered and shallow so was pretty warm)
