BA or Virgin

we're looking to fly over to Boston end of June 2013...thinking economy out (as its a day flight) but premium economy (or world traveller plus) on way back as its a night flight. Prices are identical. DS will be 4. Any advice on best airline? Virgin or BA?

Ba for me every time. I know lots prefer virgin but I have had nothing but issues on the 3 long haul flights I have had with them. Dreadful airline.

Have done both, before kids and both excellent. Nice goody bag of virgin for kiddies though.Smile

Have to say my choice would be the cheapest with best flight times to suit

Having used both I would go with BA. Virgin's seats particularly in economy are rock hard, have only slight seat pitch and very uncomfortable to sit in particularly if you are very tall. This is also an issue if you end up sitting in one of their older aircraft.

Also VAs goodie bags for children are scant in terms of what is actually in them.
Cost cutting across that airline has been in evidence for some years now and there has been a decline in service standards as a result.

BA will use T5 from Heathrow to Boston so this is a newer terminal to depart from.

Do bear in mind however, that in BAs World Traveller Plus section (which is very small and consists of 4 rows or so of seats) the seat arm rests do not move upwards - or infact at all. There is talk of having Club World foodstuffs served to PE passengers later this year. Would never rely on any airline to fully provide re foodstuffs; take what your children like to eat.
