Empty sippy cups on a plane??

I know this is a daft question - but the rule about not having even empty containers of over 100ml - does that apply to children's cups too? It's going to be a bit of a PITA - I can get cartons of juice for DS1 airside (our destination is very hot and he'll need something to drink when we get there) but DS2 is small and can't manage a straw. and I'd prefer him to drink water He's breastfed but I don't think I'm exactly overflowing these days, and would like him to have some water too. Was thinking I'd just take empty Tommy Tippee cups and buy something to put in them airside, but am I allowed to take them through security? Confused

yes that should be fine

Empty cups and bottles are fine in my experience - we always take reusable sports bottles for the flight, empty them out before security and refill them again afterwards. Never been a problem, and we fly a lot.

Of course you can bring an empty cup. It's only the liquid amount that is checked.

I took DD's Tommy tippe straw sipper full if juice through many times both ways, they said as ling as its in a sippy/toddler type cup its fine you just have to have a sip yoyrself

We have always taken them, and usually go to USA where security is tight and have never had a problem.
Remember the pressure on plane can make the lids pop off, last year filled all dgs cups when we were in departure lounge only to find them all empty when we needed them on plane, lids popped off and juice all in the bag.

Wow, sorry for all the typos! Need sleep

Blush I can't believe I got this wrong! I'm not that infrequent a flier, either. I honestly thought they banned empty containers of 100ml+ as well as anything over that amount with liquid in.

OK, that makes things much easier. I think I'll take a couple of sports bottles, since DS2 can manage those and I suspect they're less liable to pop under pressure.
Thanks! Smile
