Holiday village recommendations or similar

I'm looking to go away for a wk or 10 days in sept with dh and a 2 yo, budget around £2k.

We've been to lanzarotes holiday village and while the set up was perfect (AI but with an apartment), it was a bit hectic and the food was far from great.

Can anybody recommend any of the other holiday villages? Or somewhere that does apartments with all inclusive or half board?

Thanks!

I've only been to the holiday villages in turkey and Egypt. both were nice but no apartments. I think the holiday village at Benalmendena (costa del sol) and cyprus may have them. If not have a look at Lykia world in turkey.

sorry to jump in but which holiday village didyou prefer turkey or egypt??

Hersetta · 17/08/2012 21:48

Much preferred Egypt. Liked turkey but the complex was huge and the daily grind of getting up at the crack of dawn was tiresome. Food was better in Egypt, drinks were better in turkey but beer there was terribly watered down. We went to Egypt at Christmas and weather was lovely-although pools were cold, we wouldn't go to Egypt in the summer though as its far too hot. kids club was fantastic at both though.

Had to say as didn't make it clear that I had to get up early to get sunbeds. it was worse in turkey than I have ever known it.

I have been to Cyprus and Egypt. Preferred Cyprus, food, drinks and accommodation better - we are off to Rhodes next year - spoke to lots of reps who said that that is the best Holiday Village, absolutely 5 star.

I've been to Rhodes, Tunisia and Turkey Holiday Villages. Rhodes was definitely the best, for food and general accomodation, but is very expensive now. I got a good deal because it hadn't been built when I booked. Turkey, although very nice, was very big and as someone else said you had to be up before 6am for a decent sunbed and that was a bit tiring. The food was ok, but not that brilliant. I recommend Tunisia from those three, not too expensive, nice food and accomodation, and the nicest beach I've been to.

went to holiday village in Menorca before it became a village this year. Accommodation is apartment style and they were nice. Facilities and pools were lovely

We have been to HOliday Village in sharm el sheik 2010 and benalmadena last year, both brilliant and think they have got the concept spot on. Off to HV Rhodes on Wednesday and seen nothing but excellent reviews.

DS is now 5 :)

We've just got back from Egypt and went to turkey last year, turkey was cleaner and nicer food we thought but Egypt was much better resort wise and for activities etc and we would go again. We hope to go to the Cyprus one next year.

Also the turkey one was split in half last year so it's not that big now. Heat wide Egypt was fine for us in August at 47 ish we just stayed near the pool in the shade during the day if we wanted to.
