Padstow, lunch/afternoon with possibly eight children and six adults?

I'm meeting up with friends and their children (ranging from 2 to nearly 20!) next Thursday 23rd August in or near Padstow, Cornwall. Any suggestions for a good place to go that won't be too crowded but will maybe offer some food/a play area?

I don't think you will find anywhere not too crowded unless you get there before 10 am. Padstow gets horribly crowded in August. If I had that many children in tow I would avoid Padstow altogether. There were only three of us when we went, but we struggled to stay on the pavement and keep together because of being jostled by the crowds. OH hated Padstow because he hates crowds, and we didn't really get to see much of it because of the number of people there.
