It's been years since we did s/c in France - what do we need? Got European plug, all the car stuff we need, all the passports and paperwork, clothes, towels, tea towels, toys, books... - what is essential and what have I forgotten?? Thanks!!

Do they provide bedding? Sometimew worth taking your own decent pillows.

Dish cloths, w/up liquid.
Pegs
Bin liners (saves buying a whole roll out there!)
Loo roll & kitchen towel
Marmite, pnut butter, choc spread, ketchup

Car breathalyser kits!

Hairdryer?

If you don't have time to do a quick shop when you arrive, toilet paper.

I'm usually happy to see what is there rather than packing for every eventuality. The only things I can think of having to buy are a sharp knife and coffee filters, other than food, of course.

Tea bags (if you drink tea) and instant coffee.
Salt and pepper.
