Any air stewards/stewardesses around?

I need to choose our seats, online, for our holiday in October. We've booked extra leg room seats but when I go on to choose them it gives me the option of 2 rows - 15 or 16.

I thought the extra leg room seats were at the emergency exits, how can there be 2 rows - 1 directly behind the other?

It's not long haul, the plane is a 3 + 3 combination.
