Could be an S and B question but here goes.......
I'm off on a fantastic adventure on Sunday with my family. Flying to Calgary, road trip in RV up Rockies then across to Vancouver Island (15nights) then 4 nights in Vancouver, fly home from Vancouver.
I need clothes for mountain walking, beaches, night out in Vancouver etc...
How cold will it be up in the Rockies?
How smart is Vancouver (won't be going really posh as have children)
Any tips?

We spent our honeymoon in Vancouver, it's a gorgeous place! You won't need anything too smart especially if you'll be eating out with kids - we went to one semi posh place for dinner and I wore my (tidier!) jeans.
Btw highly recommend the breakfast at Sylvia Hotel, overlooking English Bay. Fab!

Weather in the Rockies is variable....I'd concentrate on light layers you can play around with and bring a light rain breaker and maybe a light fleece for this time of year in case of inclement weather. it's been very warm in Alberta this month with frequent evening storms. have fun - the mountains are beautiful Smile

Capilano Suspension Bridge is amazing (although depends on ages of DCs!) as is the cable car up Grouse Mountain. The cafe at the top did an amazing chowder (5 years ago! ;)). We also loved Granville Island and took a whale watching tour from there which was one of the highlights of the trip. Oh I am v jealous! We are planning on going back when DS (21mth) is older, I'm already planning what to do! Id like to get ice hockey tickets next time. And there is a sea plane mail trip out to Vancouver Island which we sadly couldn't afford last time, so that's on the list too! You'll have a blast!

Oh worrisome thanks for the tips. Am planning to do the suspension bridge (dcs 11 and 13... Will be braver than me!). I will note the cable car as I adore chowder!!!!Grin

As you can probably guess, Vancouver is one of my favourite places and we'd move there tomorrow if we could! We also took some guided tours - sound naff but were great, we did one up to Whistler which was fab, it stopped in an amazing cedar forest one the way back - the trees were incredible.
We only spent one day on Vancouver Island, but there was an amazing deli sandwich place down near the museum in Victoria, can't remember the name but they had a huge long factory line style service system.
