We have a trip booked to go to Paris for the day and Futuroscope, anyone got any other ideas? We are there for 2 weeks. Oh and we are thinking of hiring bikes too.

Thanks

Leonardo Da Vinci's house is amazing. I went there as a 15YO with my Dad. The house is as you would expect (e.g. National Trust) but the garden has beautiful walks and loads of interactive full-size models of his inventions that you can try to make work, e.g. the helicopter. Really great fun.

Whereabouts in the Loire? Lived outside Angers for 16 months so may have some suggestions. Can also recommend some cracking vineyards!

The zoo - Bioparc - at Doue La Fontaine is fantastic. Probably the best I have ever been to. It is built into an old limestone quarry and you kind of go under and over, through tunnels, into netted bird enclosures etc. Website

See some cave dwellings- they are great.

Guided tours at the chateau are great if you can time it right. Blois particularly stuck in the kids memory, and the tapestry of the apocalypse at anger.

I think it was saumur we found a river beach with a sort of swimming lake - the kids were younger though.
