missing a flight-any comeback?

Well, DH misread the flight times for our package holiday. I phoned the company to say it was strange that we were flying out in the afternoon/evening but returning in the morning and they said they couldn't do anything about flight allocation. (I took DH's word for it, and didn't check the details)
In the event, we missed the flight and paid a lot of money to get to the destination 2 days late. Do we have any comeback? The conversation to the company the day before was not recorded.

This has only happened to us once. Because it was our fault, we had to pay to take a British Airways flight to London ( we are from Ireland) and then from there, Aer Lingus, the company we were with, flew us free from London to Dublin.
It does seem a bit odd that they didn't notice your dh's error when you phoned but it is his fault really, isn't it?

I wouldn't have thought so

I think you should count yourself lucky to still get your holiday, tbh

he "misread" ?

stupidity doesn't have a monetery comeback, sorry

(I check our flight details compulsively many times over...and over, and over...)

I agree we were lucky to pick up alternative travel arrangements the next day.
Hopefully, we will never make the same mistake again.

grey, probably best not to take dh's word for it the next time. In our case, it was also dh's mistake. Also his mother turned up to the airport once at 5.00 pm when her flight had gone at 5.00 am. Think it may be genetic!

It was the am/pm thing that confused DH. Next time, I am taking full ownership of timings! It was an expensive mistake though.

I would nevr truts DH with flight timings!

You have no comeback, it was your fault. Although I have never actually seen flight timings with am/pm on, they are normally in 24 hr clock, so I can understand where the confusion was.
