Hi I know many mumsnetters have stayed here and I would appreciate any tips on parking. The hotel has advised that there is a NCP carpark 5 mins away. But if they mean the NCP at Waterloo ? the NCP website says it only has 32 spaces Shock Has anyone taken a car to this hotel and if so did you get parked ok? Going with toddler and baby so don't want to have too much stress with such things when we arrive.
Also any ideas for eating / what to do if you have been there. Thanks ever so much.

Check out prices, too - the car parking may cost you as much as the hotel! And be careful of congestion charging - will you be arriving, leaving or using the car in congestion charging times?

If the car parking IS astronomical in price, there are a few free spaces on the road that runs along the back of the south bank - individual bays directly behind the national theatre. You could bags one of those v early in the morning, or late at night, and then you or DH pick you up outside the hotel. I think there is a NCP just next to the Eye.

County Hall is a great location for the Eye and aquarium, or walk over Westminster bridge for Big ben, Houses of parliament etc, or stroll along the river in front of the national theatre etc, down to Coin St Market and then Oxo Tower. you can get river trips from the piers along there, tooo, I think, or walk over Westminster Bridge and get boat from there.

There is a Pizza Express behind the South Bank, places to eat in Coin St.

Congestion charge hours are 7am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

You are staying within the congestion charge zone so would have to pay if using the car between these hours on the above days.

We would go at a weekend and avoid the charge - thanks for tips so far - still worried it could be a nightmare!
