large self catering cottage/villa, near good stuff. ANYWHERE. can you help??

I know these kind of threads generally get a minimal response, but it's worth a try...

we're looking for a large property for three or four families, say sleeping 16-20 (we have 8 definite and will invite others depending on what we can get)

the most important criteria is easy access to STUFF, so walking distance to a shop/restaurant/bar or sea.

so I'm thinking a cornwall village near a pub and a spar, or french coastal place with places to eat and drink nearby.

WILL CONSIDER ANYWHERE that we can drive or fly to and not majorly spendy; uk/france/italy/spain???

it's for next summer.

can you help? have you been somewhere like this?

We stayed at sweet briar farm in liphook last October. Fantastic family house, in grounds of hotel with own indoor pool. Expensive but worth every penny.

Somewhere like this. Helpful Holidays are great.

We have also used Big Domain for a large group - very good.
