Easter - somewhere we can get the train to (so France/Spain/Italy/Switzerland etc)

hi - looking for some inspiration for a holiday next Easter (during school holidays) for me, DH, DD(5) and DS(3). DH won't fly so we get the train to places....we went to Italy a year ago on the night train so we don't mind a bit of travel...I've been thinking maybe spain or Italy but what will the weather be like? We don't necessarily want a "sunny by the pool" type holiday but we do want there to be things to do, places to visit with the kids - maybe bycicle hire etc? Any suggestions?
TIA
Anyone know where the warmest place would be at that time of year?

bumping this, but has anyone stayed in a kinderhotel? Our normal holiday is staying in a self catering villa - we quite like our own space and doing our own thing - although we've also enjoyed a few days at center parcs previously. does anyone have views on Kinderhotels? Is it very organised? We're pretty independent travellers generally but I do like the look of Austria....
thanks
