Passport issues

Is everyone now sorted with passports or are some still stuck? Just wanted to do a head count. I know there have been some epic ideas from some Mumsnetters.

1. Contacting MPs has helped many.
2. Direct numbers have been available for some offices. What have I missed?

I am really stuck. We are going away on the 14th August and sent our application for my 12 year old's renewed passport off on 13th July. We have phoned several times (the 0300 number) over last 3 days and have been promised a call back from the Peterborough office within 48 hours but as yet nothing. I spoke to a really unhelpful person this afternoon who couldn't put me through to Peterborough and said it looked unlikely that we would now get the passport in time as it was taking 5 weeks for processing. I can't get a direct number for Peterborough and I'm at my wits end. We only sent the application by post (stupid in retrospect but we understood we would be in good time).

Just tried the numbers for Peterborough - sadly neither number works.

i'm absolutely desperate my OH's lost his passport when we moved house and his new application has been with the Peterborough office since the 17th July, they have taken the money but we have no sign of the passport. We have tried and tried over 30 times speaking with various people but everyone has been really unhelpful and obstructive. We have been told it will not be with us by Saturday (we were due to travel on Sunday 12th August) and we cannot upgrade / collect the passport. I have 2 sons (5 & 3) who are devastated that daddy is unlikely to be able to go on holiday with us. So upset, if anyone could help we'd be forever grateful!!! x
