Vauxhall Station

I'm thinking of going into Hyde park to watch some olympics on the big screen - but worried about going in with a buggy. I don't do the train often so I'm unfamiliar with it all - do you know Vauxhall station well? I'll need to get off the train and then make my way to the underground.

I used to do this on way to school everyday! There are steps from the platforms to the exit at Vauxhall train station, then a long rampy corridor down to the tube. I am sure there must be aloft though, as I am sure i've done it with my dad in his wheelchair. I am sure someone who has been there more recently than 1993 will be along soon!

Lifts are bing installed - tantalisingly due in "Summer 2012" - hopefully someone has been there very recently (I travelled through there frequently until last year) and can update.

Lift not there yet according to DH as of two weeks ago. The steps down from the platform are long and v difficult with a buggy.

The Tube station has a lift to street level. The rail station has long flights of stairs to the platforms. I'd change at Clapham Junction which has lifts, go to Victoria, walk or bus to Hyde Park.

Thanks for your replies - I suspected as much as someone told me there were lots of steps at Vauxhall. I don't think it's worth the grief with a buggy - and a teething baby so I'm going to leave it - it was only to watch the big screens so I'd be just as happy watching at home :)
