Left this a little late and need to book an overnight for 7 aug, 4 kids. No idea of how to pick. Would like city centre, mid range. Thanks x

Probably not what you are after but this chain:

www.hotel-bb.com

have a couple of hotels in Rouen, certainly one of them still had a family room available for the night in question for ?63

They are not luxurious as they are motels but if other options fail this may work for you. You will need two rooms.

Dont leave it any later now though and get booking (unless you like sleeping in the car).

Have a look at www.booking.com. You can put in the number and ages of your party and it will show you the alternatives.

PS - I stayed last year at the Novotel -Rouen Sud. That was fine - pool, playground, good children's menu and kids get free breakfast.

I didn't see your replies until today, so thanks to both for coming back to me.

No - I think the Suite one is in the centre of town where as this one was outside. I have stayed in lots of Novotels (Dijon, Macon, Creteil Lac, Rouen etc) and they have always been good. Nice beds, clean, reasonable food.
