has anyone ever stayed in a villa in Thailand....any recommendations?

Planning a trip next Easter to meet up with DHs family from Aus....we have been to Phuket before and stayed in a hotel, but have noticed there are lots of private villas that can be hired in places like Koh Samui etc. Has anyone ever stayed in one versus a hotel and if so how did you find it/book it? Any recommendations would be gratefully received!

Hi HarrogateMum - I have visited Koh Samui twice in the past year and have stayed at an amazing resort called Centara Villas ( link below ) you stay in stunning private villas whilst having all the facilities of a hotel complex and the prices are very reasonable! We stayed in a pool villa and was well worth the extra cost!
