Recommendations for Tunisia?

Thinking of Tunisia next year, with then 2yo and 8yo DSs. Probably all-inc, as most packages seem to be AI, but will want to eat out some nights/days too. Any recommendations for nice resorts/reasonably priced hotels?

OR will it just be too hot for 2 young boys in July/August?

(Preferably one where (part of) the pool is in the shade at some point. When we were in Mallorca this year, DS hardly got near the pool cos I was so paranoid about him getting burnt as it was in direct sunshine the whole day :( )

I went to Tunisia last weekend and I was glads my kids weren't with me. It is very very hot. I stayed with friends so no recommendation re hotels

I'm taking DS to Tunisia this month and I know it will be ridiculously hot. We could only go in August this year though so I'm simply going prepared. Tonnes of sun cream and mozzie repellant, a pop up UV50 sun tent in the suitcase, get him to drink lots, sun suits, and sun hats.

We are going to Sahara beach resort. DS wanted somewhere with water slides and I wanted an all inclusive beach front location. It has very mixed reviews which I'm trying not to get too worried about!

We were in Port el Kantaoui (sp).

It is very hot when you move away from the coast, but the is manageable on the beach. The hotel will provide plenty of shade by the pools and on the beach.

We were in a 3 AI (last minute holiday), but I'd recommend 4 if you can afford it.

The PEK area has lots of lovely restaurants in the harbour area, and there is also a lot going on in Sousse.

We went about 7 years ago for a cheap holiday. Beaches beautiful, hotel had all mod cons, very hot, food awful. Recommend going for best rated hotel you can afford. We stayed at a five star hotel, but food still poor.

I'd recommend Sousse but stay clear of Hammamet. Beautiful beaches in Sousse and most hotels are right on the beach. Port El Kantoui is very nice too, there's a marina. And yes, it's very very hot! Agree with itsjustmeanon, food isn't very good.
