Baggage allowance query (AA)

We have redeemed some American Airlines Advantage points to get flights from LA to San Francisco. Does anyone know if we'll have to pay $25 per bag, or if it's included?

Many US airlines on internal flights charge their pax for any additional hold luggage (even one case) and these fees can be steep. Sometimes such fees are paid at the desk.

Some American based airlines have different policies for international travellers however, and these fees are thus waived. I would check with AA directly re their policy on international travellers making internal flights.

You may not be able to use any prior online check in facility or at the airport their self service check in so would suggest you use the airport check in desk instead. Show the staff your international itinerary. We have been advised that we cannot use online or self serve check in for our internal flights in the US so this is what we will need to do.

Thank you for that. I guess the sticking point is that we're not technically paying full fare for the flight. Did find a clause somewhere in AA'a terms and conditions that referred to that vaguely.
Will give them a ring.
