Has anyone been?
I see it did really well in the Mumsnet summer holidays review, but whilst it had high scores, it only got 3.5 for beaches/countryside.
Could anyone shed any light as to why this is?

Charliesmummy - can't quite work out whether on balance you had a good time or not?? Agree that it must be hard work without partner there to share the toddler care. Also sounded very hot which must be exhausting? Anyway - welcome back!

umm - question same as motherofone- not sure whether it was the most relaxing break for you?Would you reccomend highly? Or just reccomend?Anywhere else you might reccomend more? As you can tell I've not booked yet.
150 euros seems terribly expensive for lunch? was supper even more so?
did you try the indoor pool? spa?
welcome back!

motherofone and emmaij - sorry for delay in replying, Charlie has come down with some mystery bug and I went sick from work to look after him. This all makes sense now as to why from last Saturday whilst we were at Vila Vita he was so moany and grumpy, and me being paranoid thought 'oh no, he is turning into Child from Hell', I never gave it a thought that he was coming down with what my Doctor says is Flu so now I feel a very bad, raging temperature, shivers and shakes and crying A LOT!.
Did I enjoy Vila Vita and would I go back - YES YES, but only with dh, because it was not relaxing for me apart from the evenings. I would have tried the Spa, again if dh had been with us, but as we only had a week I did not want to miss any of the sun, and all of the treatments in the spa I could have at home but not the sun, so that swung it for me I am afraid.
As I said lunch was expensive, but the pizza idea around the pool was a much cheaper option. I know that one night we had Dinner with a glass of Champagne to start and there was 9 of us and it came to 450 Euros!.
If you don't hit the mini bar, buy in milk (I could not find non UHT anywhere) and all soft drinks, water etc and take them with you to the pool. Have a really good breakfast which is very well stocked and make some sarnies from the stash of food, go off the parc in the evening to eat - we did one night and found a good chinese which you will pass on route to Vila Vita you wont' be so shocked by your bill. I was very lucky as my bf's partner who is still out there is paid for everything - yes I know Miss lucky pants of lucky lane.
My best friend is going back in August, but her baby will be 6 months so not on the go yet. We are already talking about going there again next year but with dh or not at all. I was so stressed if you want the truth, but that would have been the same if I had gone to a Caravan in Southsea, absolutely nothing to do with Vila Vita.

Crikey my last post is so badly written - I am shattered sorry. It sounds that I am the one with the temperature!

charlie'smummy - Sorry to hear charlie is unwell. Hope he makes a really swift recovery. Sounds like you need a holiday post holiday. I know that going abroad without dh can be so stressful.
thanks for the comments. sounds like it's worth making the trip after all.
