Calais - Abbeville - Rouen - Le Mans - Tours- Poitiers - Bordeaux.

Easy and avoids Paris.

And do stop at the gorgeous service station at Abbeville, wooden tower to climb with amazing estuary views, and lovely walkways with lots of ducks etc.

I use the viamichelin website, you put in your start and end points and it gives you various route options (if different options are appropriate) with time and distance. I've found them to be very accurate and useful.
