I'm thinking if doing 4 weeks next August as I work term time only. Looking at renting an apartment and my husband can fly back a few times, grandparents fly out etc.

We need a pool, easy airport access, walking distance to restaurants and a beach. Children will be 15, 13 and 7.

Can anyone recommend any areas in Spain that I can research?

Thanks Smile

I would recommend all of Catalonia in the North...you can do cities of Barcelona and Girona....Cadaques is a lovely seaside town linked with Salvador Dali (and Dali museum in Figueres worth a visit).

There are a couple of nice seaside resorts including Sitges (close to airport and Barcelona with direct train approx 30 mins)...lively old town and nice arty shops, lovely beach with promenade. Tamariu is quieter...just a handful of hotels and nice cove (might be a bit quiet for the DC's).

You can also travel easily inland where we did some really nice walking in a volcanic park (cant remember the name tho !).

Also went to Moraira (you fly into Alicante and its up the coast from Benidorm but much smaller, low rise) .....again really nice but a bit more british and resort like than catalonia. Great beaches and can do day trips to Denia (nice typically spanish city) and mountains.

Similar area to the above - Calella and Llafranc are low rise too.
