Can my brothers partner countersign my childrens photos?

I know family can not sign but technically she is not family (although I think of her so) as she is not married to my brother although they do live together.

I cant get through to the passport office- very busy.

Yes, if she is a professional and has known you for more than two years. My SIL did ours before she married DB!

I thought it had to be someone in a profession like Solicitor, Bank Manager, Fire service etc?

SIL is a teacher, but i've had nurses, firemen, and even an insurance loss adjuster before. I've been the countersignatory for my best friend in the past . It has to be person of standing in the community, so could be a local councillor etc too.

oh good. I searched all over the net and found that you couldn't ask anyone related to your partner if you are living together so I didn't know if it would work the same.
