Wouldn't it be handy if villas supplied beach towels??

Ours, in Majorca, apparently doesn't. I'd rather pay £10 more and have them supplied rather than try and muck about with the Ryanair allowance, myself! Our villa stipulates you're not supposed to take the villa towels to the beach (though I bet everyone does, then launders them every day!).

Now you're all going to tell me that every other villa on Earth does supply them Grin

You could always buy them over there and leave them.

Any idea how much they'd cost? (Majorca)

Seriously, if you could pick up some Pound Shop ones (or equivalent!) yes, but if they're £10 each, maybe not!

It's an irritant of life. I've never stayed in one that supplies them. Everyone could take one each in their hand luggage if you've got those mini suitcases. The other irritant is seeing people abroad with full beach equipment, wind breaks chairs tents etc. How did they get them there?

lurcherlover · 22/07/2012 20:05

It depends on the company. Villa Select in Mallorca supply them. Worth asking your rep when you get there if they can source any, although there might be a rental fee.

In days gone by Simply Travel supplied lovely big soft blue ones but I so much doubt it now as they are trashed owned by Thomson

I have been in villas where they had beach and bath towels. You are right was much easier

littledudesmummy · 22/07/2012 20:56

Do you really have to have beach towels? We just use the villa's bath towels on the beach. Who's to know? There's no way I'm lugging towels on holiday or spending money on buying them there.

frenchfancy · 22/07/2012 21:01

But if you take the bath towels to the beach they get all sandy so when you want a shower at the villa you haven't got a clean towel. Much better to have both beach and bath towels provided IMO.

Tansie · 22/07/2012 22:54

Yes, french, I feel the same way. I like to keep the 2 separate; pool & beach towels, and indoor shower towels! And I don't want to be constantly washing them!

I guess it depends where you stay.i haven't stayed anywhere without pool/beach towels and I've never stayed anywhere particularly expensive.

MOSagain · 23/07/2012 18:39

It is daft isn't it. I own a holiday villa and supply all towels, for both bathrooms, pool and beach. we've just booked a villa in Portual for next year that doesn't supply towels and its a nuisance having to take pool and bath towels for 6 of us.
