Ideas for Paris day trip with kids

We are renting a cottage outside of Paris and want to go there for a day trip with kids 6, 4, 2. Any ideas for a fun day? I'm thinking the Eiffel tower but any other suggestions for things to do? Also what is parking like in Paris? Esp near the eiffel tower? Thanks.
