Looked everywhere but can only find their own 'inclusive deal' type thing or Tesco points, and we don't shop at Tesco. Have I missed something?

Don't bother it's the worst one I have been to (I am a zoo fanatic).

Sighingagain · 21/07/2012 22:56

Beat value is an annual membership of somewhere that gives you free entry - Chester zoo for example gives you free entry to loads of others zoos one visit each.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 27/07/2012 18:33

Sighingagain is there one you would recommend? An hours (ish) drive of Leicester would be ideal.

TIA

West midlands is great - and Chester zoo is out of this world - that's a 2 day zoo to do properly.

West midland also gives a free return.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 27/07/2012 20:50

Brilliant, thanks!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 27/07/2012 20:52

Sorry another question - my DD is 2, do you think she'll appreciate it all or is she a bit young yet?

Sighingagain · 27/07/2012 21:05

Mine have been going to zoos since they were 1 - they love them - if you go to West Midlands - dont bother with rides/wrist bands - she is too little.

I don't usually go in school holidays.

Sighingagain · 27/07/2012 21:10

She may find safari drive too much in school holidays - I let mine on my lap (Dh drives)

A great trip is Chester - £19 travelodge (booked in advance), huge breakie in Toby (or it may be harvester). 2 days there then home.

There are lots of play areas in most zoos now.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/07/2012 09:26

I was looking at the travelodge last night! Sounds like a lovely late September trip when the kids are back at school. Thanks so much for your help!

Sighingagain · 28/07/2012 10:02

I'm ony way there now!!! Dh booked as a surprise - he is a nice man!!! My fav way to do it is stay in Chester centre travellodge - there is free parking til 7am in one - it's not too far to get to zoo and it's a nice evening potter and there is a tesco extra downstairs for snacks - just been recommended a restaurant called - amantola - a fee miles out by a friend who lives there.

I'm very excited it's my favourite place in the world Chester Zoo.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 29/07/2012 10:22

How fab! Thanks for all the tips, makes trips so much more successful!

You have a lovely DH - does he happen to have a brother who's single and equally excited about zoos?!!

yousankmybattleship · 29/07/2012 10:24

I think Woburn is AMAZING! Been there loads of times and it is always a treat. My children love it. Plenty of play areas too and nice places to picnic.

Sighingagain · 29/07/2012 18:37

Dh is a one and only - just heading home with aching legs - ate at the hungry horse called "the rake", and had breakie in harvester.

There is an animated dinosaur exhibition til November.

Had a lovely time am absolutely worn out now!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 30/07/2012 20:23

So glad you have a fab time! Am looking to go with DD and DM back end of September!

Sighingagain · 30/07/2012 21:14

oh we stayed in a Days, had a lovely family room for £35, it was huge, with 1 double and 2 proper singles in a room through an arch, was like 2 rooms in 1.
